The Farmhouse at Vineland Road

As the descendants of Mary Jane Johnson we cherish the legacy bestowed upon us by she and our grandfather Arthemon Johnson Sr. by which we are working to create a lasting resource for the birthing community at large. Serving community is our legacy. This Designated Landmark by the City of Orlando is soon on the way to becoming a national African American Cultural Heritage site.

Our Family Legacy

" Give up midwifery? Never. "It was handed down from God and as long as God gives me strength, I don't give up God's work. "    - Mary Jane Johnson

Our grandma Naynee was one of the last granny midwife's in Central Florida in the 1980's. In 1973 she was one of 50 in the State of Florida.

She was without a doubt the most respected woman in her community.

Mary Jane Johnson was born to sharecropper parents around Oakfield, Ga and quit school after third grade to help on, the farm. Soon after she began to exhibiting signs of having healing hands. Her grandmother took her under her wing to teach how to use them.
