The garden

For a midwife in the early days her garden was her apothecary and Naynee was no different. The multiple medicinal plants found in the yard of the homestead include yaupon, elderberry, eastern red cedar, pine, muscadine, oak gall and air yam. Plans for the grounds include grooming natives, replanting original plants and introducing new herbs to the garden. Our hope is to be able to shed light on the benefit of adding herbal regiments and protocols to both pre- and post-natal journies. As well as restoring the garden and grounds.
